The Xenia Tornado
After the F-5 tornado destroyed most of Xenia in April 1974, South Western City Schools loaned three school buses to Xenia City Schools. All Xenia school buses were either destroyed or inoperative following the storm.

John Kell
When the Darbydale community was an incorporated village, Charles Helwagen was elected as the first mayor. The mayor best remembered was John Kell, pictured, who sentenced people appearing in his mayor’s court to attend church or counseling instead of paying a fine or spending time in jail.
First Horse Show
The first horse show held in Grove City was June 1, 1972 during the four-day Grove City Community Fair at Windsor Park. The show was sponsored by the Tumbleweeds 4-H Club.
Breakfast Time
You’ll probably be unable to guess what this mechanical device is unless you stop by the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum, 3378 Park Street in the Town Center. Ask how it impacted breakfast. The Museum is open Tuesday – Friday, 10-4 and Saturdays 10-noon.
