Young Historians
Parents with students in grades 3-12 should take a few minutes and examine the Young Historians of Southwest Franklin County on the historical society’s website, www.swfchs.org. We want to get them involved, interested and challenged in local history.
Editor to Writer
Craig McDonald, a former editor of the Grove City Record, is the author of numerous novels and has received American and European writing awards for his work. Some of his books have been translated into seven languages. Craig is a Grove City High School graduate.
Derby Time
Kentucky Derby day was not only a big event in that southern state, it was also a major crowd pleaser at Beulah Park. The lavish surroundings on race day was experience by hundreds of people who enjoyed the afternoon under a big air conditioned tent with many big screen television to experience all of the racing excitement.
Eyerman’s Model T
The late Louie Eyerman and his wife, Joan, donated the 1912 Ford Model T on display at the Grove City Welcome Center and Museum. 3378 Park Street in the Town Center. They were instrumental in creating the Old Time Harvest Day event at Century Village held in October.
